Membership

It is very easy to become a Member of the Society.

Come to one of our meetings which are listed on the Meetings page.The subscription for the year 2014-15 is £12 for a family membership or £10 for single membership.


But what do you get?

  • Well, our speakers will often open up a whole new world to you. Horncastle has a fascinating history and we seek to explore its many facets.
     
  • You will hear about planning applications for the conservation area, and often the town too, and get the opportunity to make your voice heard.
     
  • There are lots of projects to enhance the town and protect its environment, which you can get involved in.
     
  • You have free access to our archives, which can assist if you are working on a project or just interested in the town.
     
  • You will be invited to the annual lecture, when we secure the services of an expert in a particular field.
     
  • You will invited to take part in visits arranged to interesting venues.
     
  • You will receive regular updates from 'Civic Voice' which is the national organisation for Civic groups.
     
  • You will get involved in events such as our History days.
     
  • You will meet a group of interesting, informed and welcoming people.
     
  • How much you get involved is up to you, but the opportunities are there to provide you with a wider knowledge of your town and the opportunity to help protect it and improve it.
