Membership

It is very easy to become a Member of the Society.

Come to one of our meetings which are listed on the Meetings page.The subscription for the year 2020-21 is £15 for a family membership or £12 for single membership.

Please note that subscriptions are due on the 1st April (unless you joined the Society in 2020). In view of the lack of meetings due to the Coronavirus, we would ask you to make payments through the bank to 20-52-78  Account No 90481599. with your name as a reference.  Thank you for your continued support. But what do you get?

  • Well, our speakers will often open up a whole new world to you. Horncastle has a fascinating history and we seek to explore its many facets.
     
  • You will hear about planning applications for the conservation area, and often the town too, and get the opportunity to make your voice heard.
     
  • There are lots of projects to enhance the town and protect its environment, which you can get involved in.
     
  • You have free access to our archives, which can assist if you are working on a project or just interested in the town.
     
  • You will be invited to our monthly lectures, when we secure the services of an expert in a particular field, often local history.
     
  • You will invited to take part in visits arranged to interesting venues.
     
  • You will receive regular updates from 'Civic Voice' which is the national organisation for Civic groups.
     
  • You will get involved in events such as our History days.
     
  • You will meet a group of interesting, informed and welcoming people.
     
  • How much you get involved is up to you, but the opportunities are there to provide you with a wider knowledge of your town and the opportunity to help protect it and improve it.
